Hahnemann University Hospital and St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, two Tenet Healthcare hospitals based in Philadelphia, have reached new three-year contracts with Independence Blue Cross, one of the largest health insurers in southeastern Pennsylvania.
The agreements run through Dec. 31, 2014, and IBC members will continue to have access to both hospitals, their outpatient centers and more than 300 physicians who are part of Tenet Physicians.
Hahnemann and St. Christopher's administrators also agreed to implement IBC's performance incentive programs, which are designed to incent coordinated, high-quality, low-cost healthcare.
