The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus has received $15 million in donations to support cardiovascular research.
The gifts, from Joe and Linda Chlapaty, will support a 305,000-square-foot interdisciplinary research facility.
The donations include a $5 million estate gift and a $10 million cash pledge.
Mr. Chlapaty was a heart patient of the medical center treated for atrial fibrillation.
"We’re so proud to have Joe and Linda’s support for cardiovascular research at Ohio State. Advancing research and creative expression is one of the pillars of our strategic plan, and we welcome the Chlapatys as partners in helping us fulfill that mission," said The Ohio State University President Michael Drake, MD.
