The U.S. Senate approved legislation that enables Florida to establish seven new Veterans Affairs medical facilities in the state, according to the Miami Herald.
The legislation now heads to President Donald Trump's desk. If approved, the new facilities will be located throughout Florida in Daytona Beach, Jacksonville, Ocala, Tampa, Lakeland and two in Gainesville.
"Getting these seven new VA clinics opened here in Florida will make it easier for some of our veterans to access the care that they need," Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., who cosponsored the legislation, told the Miami Herald.
