UNC Rex to break ground on $65 million cancer center next spring

Raleigh, N.C.-based UNC Rex Healthcare plans to build a $65 million, four-story cancer center to meet increasing demand for oncology treatment and services.

Design plans for the 145,000-square-foot building are still in the works, but construction is set to begin in spring 2019 and is slated to end in late 2020.

The center, which will more than double the space dedicated to cancer care at UNC Rex, will be across the street from its main Raleigh campus.

"This center will provide a new home to care for more people who rely on us for treatment and support during a cancer diagnosis," said Steve Burriss, president of UNC Rex.
