Plan for $275M research building at Zuckerberg hospital advances

University of California San Francisco will move forward with plans to build a $275 million research facility at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center.

The five-story, 175,00-square-foot building will house a patient research center, wet and dry laboratories and teaching areas.

The building will consolidate several hospital offices and laboratories into one facility.

Construction is slated to start early next year.

The University of California Regents approved the plans and funding for the facility Nov. 13.
