Mount Carmel to open $361M hospital April 28

Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, Ohio will open its $361 million, 210-bed replacement hospital April 28, according to Columbus Business First.

The health system will shut down inpatient operations at its campus in Franklinton, Ohio and move inpatients to its new location in Grove City, Ohio.

The Franklinton campus will still offer outpatient services. About 300 Mount Carmel employees will remain at the Franklinton campus while 1,500 employees will transfer to the new location.

The opening is later than the original target of November 2018, because of construction delays and a last-minute decision to finish interiors of 24 rooms that would've been left as shell space.
