Portland-based Maine Medical Center is moving forward with the final phase of its $525 million expansion project, a six story building with 64 inpatient beds, according to The Portland Press Herald.
The 265,000 square-foot medical building, which still needs approval from the Portland Planning Board, will house 19 cardiovascular care procedure rooms.
Pending approval, construction will begin in 2020.
The larger project also includes a three-story addition to the medical center's parking garage, a new parking garage and a two-story expansion of the hospital's east tower.
