Ascension Wisconsin, the Glendale-based branch of the Catholic hospital giant, plans to open a microhospital in Menomonee Falls, Wis., according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
The hospital, which will be built and run in partnership with microhospital operator Emerus, will include an emergency department and eight inpatient beds. The facility will also have a health clinic.
The hospital will be staffed by emergency medicine physicians and run 24/7.
Ascension Wisconsin initially struck a joint venture with Emerus to build small, neighborhood hospitals throughout the state in January.
