Davenport, Iowa-based Genesis Medical Center expects to complete its multi-million dollar expansion project in the next six months, according to KWQC.
The project , which began this summer, entails the construction of a new patient tower with nearly 70 beds on the hospital's east campus, according to the report.
To celebrate the expansion's progress, Genesis Medical Center held a "topping off" ceremony where a crane placed the building's highest beam — signed by 2,000 hospital employees — on top of the structure.
