1. Mohawk Valley Health System to break ground on $480M New York hospital
Utica, N.Y.-based Mohawk Valley Health System will break ground on its $480 million hospital this week.
2. Lehigh Valley Health breaks ground on 9th Pennsylvania hospital
Allentown, Pa.-based Lehigh Valley Health Network broke ground on its ninth hospital in Pennsylvania.
3. Baptist Health Care moves to design phase of $550M replacement hospital
Pensacola, Fla.-based Baptist Health Care has selected an architect, program manager and general contractor for its $550 million replacement hospital.
4. Nebraska Medicine plans billion dollar campus expansion
Nebraska Medicine and the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha are planning a sprawling $1 billion to $2 billion medical complex with buildings for research and inpatient care.
5. Intermountain's $150M Utah hospital to open next fall
Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare's $150 million Spanish Fork (Utah) Hospital is expected to open in fall 2020.
6. UnityPoint Marshalltown building expansion to replace North Campus
UnityPoint Health Marshalltown (Iowa) plans to consolidate medical services at one location and close its North Campus hospital. UnityPoint will begin a $38.4 million, 65,000-square-foot expansion of its South Campus hospital in Marshalltown next spring.
7. Idaho Falls gets another hospital
After 22 months of construction, Idaho Falls Community Hospital opened to patients Dec. 2.
8. Mercyhealth wins appeal to build Illinois microhospital
Mercyhealth's is one step closer to building a microhospital in Crystal Lake, Ill., after an appellate court ruled against its competitor.
9. Plan for $275M research building at Zuckerberg hospital advances
University of California San Francisco will move forward with plans to build a $275 million research facility at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center.
10. Mayo Clinic to open 741-bed hospital in the United Arab Emirates
Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic and Abu Dhabi Health Services Company have partnered to open and operate a 741-licensed bed hospital in the United Arab Emirates.
