The Department of Veterans Affairs plans to resume its Oracle Cerner EHR system rollout in June 2023, Nextgov reported Dec. 30.
The VA currently has 25 planned Oracle Cerner rollout sites for 2023. Issues at rollout sites and rising costs caused the VA to pause the rollout in July 2022 indefinitely.
A recent report from the Institute for Defense Analyses estimated that deploying the EHR system at all VA medical centers would cost more than $50 billion over 28 years.
