New York City-based NYU Langone Health is implementing language interpretation company Voyce's app into its Epic EHR system.
Voyce's interpretation service is HIPAA-compliant and designed to remove language barriers between patients and clinicians. Through the app, NYU Langone Clinicians can access medical interpreters who speak more than 240 languages and dialects, according to a Feb. 27 Voyce news release.
After a conversation, the patient's language interpretation services are documented in the EHR.
"Integrating translation services into our Epic EHR allows patients and clinical teams to more quickly and easily share information in their preferred language, so they can be confident that their care team understands them," Suzanne Howard, vice president of clinical systems and integration at NYU Langone, said in the release.
