The Los Angeles County Department of Health Services announced Oct. 25 that it integrated Safety Net Connect's e-consult services with its Cerner EHR system.
By adding the health technology company's e-consult platform to its EHR, LADHS providers can perform e-consults and access patients' health information simultaneously through the Cerner system.
"Creating the seamless link when submitting an eConsult from Cerner has provided tangible improvement in how primary care providers care for their patients," said Stanley Dea, MD, director of eConsult at LADHS, according to the news release. "In a healthcare system as large as ours, providers need every innovative edge they can use to help them through their busy workdays."
LADHS comprises four hospitals and 19 health centers across Los Angeles County. To date, more than 1.1 million e-consults have been provided with the department's system.
