The Food and Drug Administration, UC San Francisco and Quantum Leap Healthcare Collaborative created an EHR integration that aims to streamline health data for clinical research trials.
OneSource, which launches within widely used EHR platforms, is an electronic data capture system based on open-source data EHR integration standards, which allows clinicians or patients to enter clinical data at the point of care, according to an April 5 press release.
Healthcare organizations can then use that single entry for trials, quality improvement and research.
The system also automates the transfer of labs, demographic information and concurrent medications to clinical trial and registry data systems.
According to the press release, the organizations plan to expand OneSource for use in routine clinical practice, allowing improved access to patient data across various clinical stakeholders.
