EHR giant Epic plans to merge four of its departments into one larger application services division, according to an Aug. 14 email to staff obtained by Channel 3000.
The four departments being consolidated are end user training, implementation, quality assurance and technical communications. The email did not imply that any jobs will be eliminated, according to the report.
“We’re always looking for better ways to support our customers as they care for patients," Epic said in an Aug. 17 emailed statement to Becker's Hospital Review. "For more than 40 years, we’ve stayed flexible and adapted to our customers’ needs, and we’ll continue doing so going forward.”
Verona, Wis.-based Epic is home to more than 9,000 employees. On Aug. 12, the company permitted staff to work from home throughout the end of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
