Defense Health Agency posted a request for information Sept. 23 for information technology vendors that can provide the entire agency with IT support, NextGov reports.
The IT services must support DHA's implementation of its Cerner-based EHR system MHS Genesis. Department of Defense deployed the new EHR at four sites in early September.
The transition to MHS Genesis includes providing ongoing care for 8.6 million beneficiaries and nearly 150,000 staff at more than 1,200 locations while simultaneously replacing legacy IT at DHA medical facilities and data centers, according to the report.
In addition to providing support for the EHR project, DHA requests IT vendor support in the following areas: IT operations, data center administration, asset planning and management, cybersecurity, access and credentialing and call center, the publication reports.
DHA officials will select a set number of vendors, based on responses to the RFI, to attend in-person sessions in October. Responses to the RFI are due Sept. 30.
