Change Healthcare announced on Dec. 17 that Cerner has integrated the data analytics firm's clinical decision support solutions with its EHR and acute case management software.
Cerner's ACM solution connects clinical and financial information within the EHR to decrease readmission rates, improve staff efficiencies and collect appropriate reimbursement.
By adding Change Healthcare's solutions, case managers that use a Cerner system can view the status of medical reviews that have been completed automatically and confirm that patients receive the right medical services within the correct setting.
"Aligning clinical and financial information helps improve health outcomes and reduce costs," Cerner's Revenue Cycle Development Director Jim Wagner said in the news release. "Cerner clients can use intelligence to automate a previously manual process, giving case managers and clinicians more time to concentrate on patients and their quality of care."
