Allscripts released guidance for its healthcare clients to expedite telehealth services at their respective organizations through its EHR patient engagement platform, according to a March 18 news release.
The telehealth implementation plan comprises a client decision workbook, 10 remote project hours for training and set up as well as specialized COVID-19 forms and alert language for patient outreach. Allscripts anticipates clients that use the plan will have telehealth services up and running at their organization within days.
The telehealth implementation guidance aims to help hospitals and health systems reach out to patients prior to appointments and offer them virtual alternatives to their in-person appointments.
Allscripts also launched an automated triage tool for its EHR, which features built-in Centers for Disease Control-defined screening measures to identify and prompt treatment of diseases such as COVID-19. The virtual triage tool will screen patients into four categories: no further intervention needed; a virtual telehealth on-demand waiting room; a follow-up queue for email or phone callback; or location of nearest COVID-19 testing facility.
