Amazon's primary care subsidiary One Medical is set to lose its contract with Google by the end of 2024, the AHA reported.
Approximately 10% of One Medical's 2020 revenue came from discounted medical services provided to Google's workforce of around 180,000 employees under a contract between the two companies. Media reports indicate that the percentage slightly declined in 2021. However, with One Medical ceasing to publicly disclose financials following its acquisition by Amazon in 2022, it remains unclear how this will affect the company's future revenue.
Google has clarified that its decision to terminate One Medical's contract was unrelated to Amazon's acquisition of the primary care provider. The One Medical clinics previously operating on Google's campuses have now been transitioned to Premise Health, a provider of both digital and in-person healthcare and wellness services for employers.
A Google spokesperson told Becker's that employees can continue to use One Medical community centers as an in-network provider.
"One Medical is proud of the care we have provided to Google employees at a small number of locations on Google campuses, virtually, and in our hundreds of community offices near where many Google employees live, work and shop," an Amazon spokesperson told Becker's. "Google employees can continue their care virtually and at the One Medical offices in their communities across the U.S."
