GE Healthcare, Siemens eye potential acquisition of $7B Medtronic business units

GE Healthcare and Siemens Healthineers AG are among the parties eyeing a potential acquisition of recently spun off Medtronic patient-monitoring and respiratory intervention business units that could be valued at more than $7 billion, Bloomberg reported Dec. 7.

Medtronic is in the process of spinning off the business units. However, the company is open to a sale at the right price, according to Bloomberg

GE Healthcare is looking to explore acquisitions ahead of its January spinoff.

The business units are also drawing interest from unnamed private equity groups.
