CVS MinuteClinic looks to fill gap created by long primary care wait times

CVS Health is aiming for its retail healthcare offering, MinuteClinic, to fill primary care gaps caused by longer wait times; a 2022 survey from Merritt Hawkins found that the average patient waits 20.6 days for primary care.

The retail health clinic also looks to fill in gaps caused by primary care deserts. According to a June 20 CVS Health news release, more than 55 percent of the U.S. population lives within 10 miles of a MinuteClinic.

Additionally, MinuteClinic offers virtual healthcare visits for common medical conditions.
