Apple to reportedly unveil AI health coaching, health app for iPad

Apple plans to release an artificial intelligence-backed health coaching service, as well as an iPad version of its health app to appeal to healthcare providers, Bloomberg reported.

The coaching platform will use AI and Apple Watch data to create personalized health-and-wellness plans for users, people familiar with the matter told the news outlet. The health app, meanwhile, is currently only available on the iPhone, while tablets have become popular in healthcare settings.

The tech giant also intends to add tools to the app that track emotions and help manage poor vision, according to the April 25 story.

Bloomberg said Apple's "health strategy has become core to the company," citing its development of a mixed-reality headset for meditation, blood pressure monitoring for the Apple Watch, and a noninvasive glucose monitoring device. The company is also reportedly planning a journaling app that could have some health-related benefits and features.
