Apple employees have discussed using its mixed reality headset, Vision Pro, as a tool to diagnose and treat mental health issues, The Information reported Oct. 25.
People familiar with the matter told the publication that Apple could use the Vision Pro's cameras and sensors to analyze an individual's facial expressions to identify depression, anxiety, stress or post-traumatic stress disorder.
According to one of the sources, the Vision Pro has the potential to present images and sounds that could have a positive impact on the wearer's emotional state.
Apple would need approval from regulators to add the feature to the headset.
