Amazon launches virtual medical assistance through Alexa

Amazon's Alexa has integrated a telehealth and virtual healthcare delivery platform by Hellocare into its software, allowing patients to make calls and seek medical assistance from physicians and nurses through the use of their voice.

Patients can engage with the Hellocare platform through the Hello 2 device plugged into their TVs. The new Alexa Built-in Hello 2 device offers customers connection with caregivers, among other features, according to a March 11 news release from Amazon.

Additionally, healthcare providers with Hello 2 devices can now offer patients the benefits of Alexa without incurring additional costs or requiring extra table space or power access points, the release said.
