5 moves Microsoft is making in healthcare

Software giant Microsoft has emerged as a major player in the medtech industry.

Here are five healthcare moves from Microsoft that Becker's has reported on since March 20:

  1. Nuance Communications, a software company owned by Microsoft, launched Dragon Ambient Experience Express, a clinical documentation application that uses GPT-4.

  2. A report found that Epic EHR customers are leaning toward Microsoft Azure as their cloud provider. 

  3. Microsoft partnered with Syneos Health to develop a machine learning platform that can help speed up clinical trials.

  4. EHR giant Epic announced it would use Microsoft's GPT-4 in its EHRs.

  5. Microsoft received a court order that allowed the company to crack down on software used by ransomware gangs to target hospitals.
