The NBA partnered with digital health company Masimo in an agreement that will supply pulse oximeters to the players participating in the NBA tournament in Orlando.
Masimo supplied all players, coaches and staff with a MightySat fingertip pulse oximeter to measure oxygen saturation, pulse rate and respiration rate as part of the NBA's COVID-19-related safety protocols. NBA Director of Sports Medicine John DiFiori, MD, said the players are adapting to wearing the technology, and some had been using the technology during training prior to the pandemic.
The MightySat is powered by the hospital-grade Masimo SET Measure through Motion and Low Perfusion pulse oximetry technology.
