Ada Health, an artificial intelligence-powered app for diagnosing medical conditions, recently raised $90 million in its latest funding round, CNBC reported May 27.
German drugmaker Bayer led the investment round, which included funding from Samsung through its venture capital fund.
Ada works similar to messaging app WhatsApp, Ada CEO Daniel Nathrath told CNBC. Using the online app, a patient can enter their symptoms, and an AI chatbot then asks questions to pinpoint the issue.
After going through the assessment, the app gives the patient a list of conditions that are most likely to be the cause of the symptoms and offers suggestions about next steps, such as seeing a general practitioner.
