Eleven of Fort Lauderdale-based HCA Florida Healthcare's 400 affiliates in the state adopted the system's brand Nov. 15, including four existing hospitals, six freestanding emergency rooms and a new hospital.
By spring 2022, all 400 sites will have adopted the brand, according to an HCA Florida Healthcare news release.
As part of the collaborative care network, the $360 million HCA Florida University Hospital opened Nov. 15 in Davie, Fla. The 330,000-square-foot facility includes 24/7 emergency care and maternity services, as well as a level 3 neonatal intensive care unit and robotic and minimally invasive surgeries.
The hospital has 165 beds with the ability to expand to 435 beds, and employs 600 physicians.
These four existing hospitals will have the following new names:
- Memorial Hospital of Tampa (Fla.) is now HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital
- Tampa Community Hospital is now HCA Florida West Tampa Hospital
- Brandon (Fla.) Regional Hospital is now HCA Florida Brandon Hospital
- Tamarac, Fla.-based University Hospital and Medical Center is now HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital
