Larry Ellison's cancer-focused software startup, Project Ronin, is shutting down, The Register reported March 1.
The company is set to undergo a permanent mass layoff due to its closure, resulting in the termination of as many as 150 employees.
The news outlet reported that Project Ronin received initial funding from Mr. Ellison but faced challenges in attracting paying customers and eventually ran out of funds to sustain its operations.
The startup, founded in 2018, had an objective to enhance cancer care by aiding physicians and patients in making more informed decisions regarding treatment.
Mr. Ellison is currently the chief technology officer of Oracle, a company he co-founded.
