Telehealth unicorn Ro is alerting employees that a security contractor "inadvertently" uploading a spreadsheet of employee data led to a data breach, according to Oct. 6 reporting in Techcrunch.
The contractor uploaded the spreadsheet to a malware detection website July 6. This inadvertently led to a breach of names, bank account numbers and addresses of Ro employees.
Ro declined to name the malware detection website that the spreadsheet was uploaded onto. The company said it worked with the website to have the spreadsheet deleted and is not aware of any misuse of data as a result of the incident.
