A ransomware attack on a Massachusetts fertility clinic forced it to take its computer systems offline and has affected 350,000 patients.

- On Aug. 8, hackers accessed ReproSource's computer networks, according to an Oct. 8 news release. The lab discovered ransomware Aug. 10. An hour later, the lab shut down all network connection activity to mitigate risks.
- The lab discovered 350,000 patients' data may have been accessed, according to data reported to the Maine attorney general's office Oct. 8.
- Patients' names, addresses, birthdates and health-related information may have been exposed. For some patients, Social Security numbers, financial account information and driver's license numbers have been exposed.
- The investigation is ongoing, according to the release.
