Illinois hospital restores critical IT systems after cyberattack

Rushville, Ill.-based Culbertson Memorial Hospital has fully restored its IT systems after a cyberattack forced the hospital to go offline, The Record reported April 11.

A spokesperson for the hospital told the publication that all systems were restored on April 11, but said it could not comment on the nature of the attack as it is still working to determine what happened.

According to the spokesperson, more information about the scope of the attack would be released to Culbertson Memorial Hospital's Facebook page. But, as of April 12, the hospital has not detailed if the attack compromised any patient information from its systems.

On April 7, the hospital posted to Facebook about the incident, and said that it was consulting with a third-party forensic team to investigate it further.
