Global cyberattacks increased by 38 percent in 2022 compared to 2021, with the healthcare sector seeing the largest increase in attacks, according to a new report from Check Point Research.
The newly released data analyzed 2022 cyberattack trends and found the following:
- The three most attacked sectors in 2022 were healthcare, education/research and government.
- The U.S. saw a 57 percent increase in the number of cyberattacks in 2022.
- Healthcare organizations in the U.S. suffered an average of 1,463 weekly cyberattacks, which is 74 percent higher than 2021's numbers.
- The healthcare sector ranked third out of all sectors for the most cyberattacks.
