Health tech startup myNurse is shutting down its operations, the announcement coming the same day the company notified patients of a data breach that exposed their personal information.
According to an April 29 data breach notice filed with the California attorney general's office, myNurse, a startup that provides chronic care management and remote patient monitoring services, identified that an unauthorized user gained access to patient information on March 7.
Patient information accessed by the breach include names, phone numbers, dates of birth, medical histories, diagnoses, treatments, lab test results, prescriptions and health insurance information.
The company said there is no evidence indicating that the information has been misused.
In the breach letter, myNurse also stated that it will cease operations May 31, although it said the decision to stop services was unrelated to the data breach.
The company began notifying affected patients on April 29.
It is unknown how many patients are affected.
