Cyberattack leads to payment restructuring at Mississippi hospital

The Feb. 21 cyberattack on Change Healthcare is causing some restructuring of payments at Ocean Springs, Miss.-based Singing River Health System, WLOX reported March 29.

Some of the system's patients are being asked to follow new payment instructions due to the Change Healthcare hack. According to the news outlet, Change Healthcare, the company the hospital uses to process payments mailed in by patients, is no longer processing payments for Singing River.

This means that any payments received by Change Healthcare from Singing River patients will remain unprocessed and be returned to the patient with "return to sender" marked on them.

Singing River is telling all of its patients to redirect payments to its online portal.
