Trevor Fetter, president and CEO of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare, continues to make eight figures, as his total compensation in fiscal year 2012 exceeded $11.24 million, according to a proxy disclosure filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Mr. Fetter's compensation last year rose 4.7 percent from last year's total, which exceeded $10.74 million. His base salary increased to $1.1 million, while more than $8.3 million of his compensation came in the form of stock awards, option awards and deferred earnings. Mr. Fetter also tallied more than $1.61 million in bonuses and incentives and recorded almost $161,000 for personal use of Tenet's private jets.
Tenet CFO Daniel Cancelmi, who was appointed to his position in September and previously was Tenet's senior vice president of accounting, earned more than $3.27 million in total compensation. His pay package included a base salary of $391,758 and more than $2 million in Tenet stock and stock option awards. Biggs Porter, Tenet's former CFO, earned more than $1.53 million in his nine months of service in 2012.
The next three highest-paid executives at Tenet were President of Hospital Operations Britt Reynolds ($4.75 million), former General Counsel Gary Ruff ($2.34 million) and Senior Vice President of Human Resources Cathy Fraser ($1.42 million).
In FY 2012, Tenet recorded $141 million of profit, 143 percent higher than FY 2011. Tenet currently owns and operates 49 acute-care hospitals.
