The average salary for physicians and surgeons dropped from $258,039 in 2017 to $250,000 in 2018, according to MedPage Today's 2018 salary survey results.
The online survey got more than 20,000 responses from physicians, 7,753 of whom included salary information used for the analysis. The survey also included data on physician assistant and nurse practitioner compensation, which increased.
