Gary Wilde, CEO of Community Memorial Health System in Ventura, Calif., said he will take a $65,000 pay cut as the health system plans to eliminate 31 positions, according to a Ventura County Star report.
CMHS officials said the layoffs were due to Medicare cuts and declining admissions. Laid off employees include clerical workers and technician positions in radiology, lab services, pharmacy and other areas, according to the report.
In 2010, Mr. Wilde had a base salary of $560,000 and total compensation of $995,800. However, the total compensation reflects more than $320,000 of deferred compensation that will not be paid until Mr. Wilde retires.
