Seven healthcare-related professions made a list of the most popular jobs that pay at least $100,000 a year, with physicians and surgeons having the highest annual mean wage on the list at $214,700, an analysis by LiveCareer found.
LiveCareer used the most recent available data from Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment Statistics and Occupational Employment Projections.
To identify the "most popular six-figure jobs," LiveCareer excluded jobs with an annual mean wage of less than $100,000. LiveCareer then ordered the remaining occupations by their total employment.
Total employment is an estimate of how many workers can be classified as full- or part-time in a given occupation, and excludes self-employed, owners and partners in unincorporated firms, household workers or unpaid family workers. Annual mean wage reflects gross pay, not including premium pay such as overtime, severance and tuition reimbursement.
