Female medical assistants and women in healthcare support roles earn a higher median salary than their male counterparts, according to CNBC.
CNBC cited data from a PayScale report, which looked at 10 U.S. jobs with at least 20,000 male and 20,000 female workers in which the median salary for women is higher than the median salary for men. The report used 2017 data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Here are the two healthcare jobs that made the list.
1. Medical assistants
Male weekly median salary: $550
Female weekly median salary: $597
Women's earnings as a percentage of men's: 107.9 percent, or $1.08 on the dollar
2. Healthcare support occupations, e.g., dental assistants, nursing aides
Male weekly median salary: $560
Female weekly median salary: $603
Women's earnings as a percentage of men's: 107 percent, or $1.07 on the dollar
