Following the Supreme Court ruling that upheld President Barack Obama's healthcare reform law, HHS announced it has made more funding and resources available for states to build health insurance exchanges.
States now have 10 new opportunities to apply for funding to establish a state-based exchange, which go live Jan. 1, 2014. The 10 new funding deadlines range from Aug. 15, 2012, to Oct. 15, 2014.
States can also apply for exchange establishment cooperative agreements through the end of 2014, which aim to ensure state exchanges are self-sufficient.
