CMS Proposes Rule Adding to Standards for Health Coverage Navigators

CMS has proposed new regulations for healthcare coverage navigators, adding to previously issued standards for these Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act-created organizations responsible for providing clear and unbiased healthcare coverage information to consumers.

The new regulations would create conflict-of-interest, training and certification and meaningful access standards for assistance personnel, as well as adding to the list of organizations ineligible to become navigators and clarifying navigator funding regulations.

The proposed regulations will appear in the Federal Register, and comments will be accepted for 30 days.
