St. John's Medical Center in Jackson, Wyo., is developing a "lifestyle medicine" program to better manage patient health, according to the Jackson Hole News & Guide.
Lifestyle medicine aims to modify patient behavior so that everyday choices add up to long-term health. It involves nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management and social connection. Details of the program are still in the works, but the concept has been presented to the board, according to the report.
St. John's CEO Paul Beaupre, MD, told the Jackson Hole News & Guide the program will not be an entirely new department, but rather "an umbrella for what we already have"
