To identify the 30 top cities for older Americans, 24/7 Wall Street — a USA Today content partner — evaluated social, health and economic factors of each metropolitan area statistically specific to the 65 years and older population. These indicators include proximity to institutions like golf courses and fitness centers, access to primary care physicians and mean retirement income, population living in poverty, median monthly home ownership costs and gross rent.
