Kansas City, Mo.-based University Health opened a new neonatal intensive care unit Sept. 13, ABC affiliate KMBC reported Sept. 14.
The unit spans three levels and has capacity for 29 newborns, according to the news station.
The new wing, funded by a $10 million donation, replaced a 50-year-old unit that could treat 19 newborns in one room, the news station said.
