Baylor Scott & White promote early childhood literacy with holiday book drive

Dallas-based Baylor Scott & White Health has partnered with Barnes & Noble-Round Rock (Texas) to collect more than 1,500 books for a holiday book drive.

The books collected through the drive will be donated to Scott & White Hospital-Round Rock's Bookwell program, which aims to support early childhood literacy. The program provides a new book to every infant born at the hospital.

"Reading is one of the most valuable skills a person can have and helping children begin reading at a young age gives them the opportunity to develop those skills and hopefully become a reader for life," said Frank Campbell, community business development manager at the bookstore chain's local shop.

The book drive will run until Dec. 31.
