10 recent cardiology partnerships

From $700 million cardiovascular care initiatives to international AI applications, here are 10 recently announced cardiology partnerships:

  1. Baylor College of Medicine and the Texas Heart Institute, both based in Houston, will partner to establish a cardiovascular health and research center — the Texas Heart Institute at Baylor College of Medicine — at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center.

  2. Jacksonville, Fla.-based Nemours Children's Health opened a new cardiac specialty care clinic at Lewes, Del.-based Beebe Healthcare primary care facility in Selbyville, Del.

  3. Cleveland Clinic, Chesterfield, Mo.-based Mercy, and Bentonville, Ark.-based nonprofit organizations the Alice L. Walton Foundation and the Heartland Whole Health Institute partnered to invest $700 million over 30 years to address the "$950 million lost annually" as patients leave Northwest Arkansas for cardiovascular care.

  4. Southbridge, Mass.-based UMass Memorial Health-Harrington Hospital partnered on a remote patient monitoring program with digital health company Brook Health and reduced the all-cause 30-day readmission for heart failure patients by 50%.

  5. Worcester, Mass.-based UMass Chan Medical School partnered with South Korea-based Hallym University on an AI application to expand healthcare access for stroke patients in rural areas.

  6. Pineville (Ky.) Community Health Center joined the Lexington-based University of Kentucky Gill Heart & Vascular Institute Affiliate Network and the UK HealthCare/Norton Healthcare Stroke Care Network.

  7. Orlando-based University of Central Florida College of Medicine and Davie-based HCA Florida Healthcare launched a cardiovascular disease fellowship. 

  8. Cincinnati Children's and Indianapolis-based Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent partnered to improve access to pediatric cardiology care.

  9. Montclair, N.J.-based Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center was selected as a site for Abiomed's clinical trial testing the Impella CP device on patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction.

  10. Concord (N.H.) Hospital Health System and Berlin, N.H.-based North Country Healthcare partnered to establish the Concord Hospital Cardiovascular Institute at North Country Healthcare.
