Ridgewood, N.J.-based Valley Health System will now delay the opening of an $868 million hospital project until April 2024, according to a June 13 filing.
The original opening date was targeted for December, but the health system decided to push it back to open during a time when patient volume is lower. The delayed opening will also allow for enhanced staff training, the system said. The construction completion was originally planned for July but has been put back to September.
The construction of the new seven-story hospital in Paramus, N.J., spanning approximately 875,000 square feet, has reached 90 percent of construction billing as of May 30, the system said.
An additional $35 million was approved for the overall budget in March for new patient rooms and more treatment rooms.
