U of Louisville Health breaks ground on $144M tower

University of Louisville (Ky.) Health broke ground June 6 on a $144 million expansion project of University of Louisville Hospital.

With the expansion, the hospital will have more than 360 beds all in private rooms, according to a health system news release. There will be 20 operating rooms and a new 24-bed observation unit.

The expansion will add 325 jobs to the hospital. New hires and their dependents are eligible for free undergraduate tuition at the University of Louisville.

The expansion is expected to be open in early 2024.
