Tower Health, Drexel University break ground on medical school

Tower Health and Drexel University began construction of a medical school that will sit on a 150,000-square-foot campus in Wyomissing, Pa., according to Lehigh Valley Business.

The medical school, expected to be completed in the 2020-21 academic school year, will eventually admit 200 students into its four-year program.  

The medical school has 40 students enrolled for the 2021 school year, will admit another 40 the following academic year, and by the third year the school will add 120 students, according to the report.

West Reading, Pa.-based Tower Health and Philadelphia-based Drexel University signed a 20-year academic agreement in February and announced their intent to build a medical school in April 2018.
